Water Management Engineer Balasore (India)

Role & responsibilities

Plan, operate and maintain mine dewatering and pumping systems to support uninterrupted mining

Operate the ETP / Cr(VI) treatment system for mine water and ensure discharge meets prescribed standards

Carry out groundwater and surface-water monitoring, including piezometer and water quality sampling

Ensure compliance with CGWA NOC, OSPCB Consent to Operate and Environmental Clearance conditions; prepare statutory returns and reports

Design and maintain rainwater harvesting structures, garland drains, check dams and settling ponds

Plan monsoon water management and prevent uncontrolled discharge from mine areas

Coordinate with regulators, workplace team and external labs during inspections and audits

Preferred candidate profile

B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Environmental Engineering, or M.Sc in Hydrogeology / Environmental Science

5+ years of experience in mine water management, dewatering or effluent treatment

Working knowledge of Cr(VI) treatment and ETP operations

Familiarity with CGWA, OSPCB and MoEF&CC; compliance requirements

Experience in an open-cast mine (preferably chromite) will be an advantage

Valuable documentation and liaison skills
