Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage underwriting, specifically in live and post underwriting processes. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and assessing the risk associated with each loan.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze employment documentation and re-calculate income to ensure accuracy.
• Assess credit reports and re-calculate liabilities to determine borrower eligibility.
• Evaluate title commitments, hazard, and flood insurance to identify potential risks.
• Conduct thorough income calculations and review tax returns to verify borrower financial stability.
• Identify red flags in applications and documentation, ensuring that ineligible properties are recognized.
• Collaborate with loan origination teams to facilitate smooth processing of mortgage applications.
• Maintain detailed records of underwriting decisions and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mortgage loan processing, including live and post underwriting.
• Proficiency in income calculations, tax returns, and credit report analysis.
• Familiarity with appraisal and title processes.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management abilities.

Qualifications

• Any Graduate / BE / B Tech / MCA / MSc.
• Minimum of 1 year of current mortgage loan post underwriting and live underwriting experience.
