Sub Editor – News Media

About the Role

Tatwamayi News is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Sub Editor to join our editorial team for our 24×7 digital news operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread news content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and readability.
• Write and edit compelling headlines, captions, and news copies.
• Verify facts and ensure editorial accuracy before publication.
• Monitor breaking news and update stories promptly.
• Rewrite news reports from various sources while maintaining originality.
• Coordinate with reporters, video editors, and the digital/social media team.
• Ensure content follows the organization's editorial standards and guidelines.
• Work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by a 24×7 news operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field.
• Strong command of English and Malayalam.
• Excellent editing, proofreading, and headline-writing skills.
• Good knowledge of current affairs and news trends.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in digital news media will be an advantage.
• Freshers with strong writing and editing skills may also apply.
