Sr Database Administrator | Bengaluru- Onsite | 5+ yrs

• Consult with internal teams to assess needs and recommend appropriate DBMS operational methods and tools.
• Document and maintain operational procedures and standards for business critical databases.
• Manage the operational aspects of Cloud-based and on-prem databases, including security, auditing, backup and recovery.
• Define security requirements and operational procedures and implement appropriate tools and methods to ensure compliance with security framework and protect company systems and information.
• Design and implement automated deployment tools and processes.
• Maintain and support development, test and production databases for user access, table changes, performance and troubleshooting.
• Monitor database performance and ensure database availability.
• Define performance tuning criteria and methods, and use those to ensure database performance meets business requirements.
• Plan, manage and implement the installation of new or enhanced applications/systems with minimal impact to users and infrastructure.
• Test and implement new database features for general use. Build automated database testing solutions.
• Automate and test backup and recovery solutions for highly available databases across multiple technologies.
• Help design and evaluate major changes to standards and procedures related to database technology direction changes.

• DBA experience in a production environment
• Extensive experience in SQL in Oracle, MySQL and other RDBMS.
• Experience managing business critical production databases in a Cloud environment.
• Experience using Data modeling and database design, performance tuning, optimization, schema creation and management.
• Strong skillset with RedHat Enterprise Linux, shell scripting, and Linux security.
• Familiarity with database design patterns, data analytics, and data-oriented frameworks.

Preferred

• Experience in version controls such as SVN, Git, Stash
• PL/SQL programming experience
• Strong backup and recovery skillsets for multiple platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, AWS RDS, etc.
• Experience using development tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, SQL Server data tools, and any other SQL development tools.
• Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving skills, strict attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as work within a team environment
• Experience with NoSQL technologies: Snowflake, MongoDB, AWS datalake, AWS Glue.
• Experienced with IaC using ansible, terraform, or cloudformation.
• Experience in the retail industry, e-retail, big data.
• Experience working with remote teams.
• Able to travel national and international if the situation requires it.
