Senior Engineer AWS Automation and Disaster Recovery Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based disaster recovery solutions for mission-critical workloads.

Develop automation frameworks and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar.

Build end-to-end automated failover and recovery workflows to meet RTO/RPO objectives.

Conduct regular DR drills, simulations, and failover tests to validate recovery procedures.

Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure DR readiness across all environments.

Document DR strategies, recovery runbooks, and architecture diagrams.

Evaluate new AWS services and technologies to continuously improve DR posture.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on AWS.

Strong expertise with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudFormation, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, and Global Accelerator/CloudFront.

Executing disaster recovery and business continuity plans in AWS environments.

Strong scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar).

Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform under pressure during critical incidents.

Professional Experience with container platforms (ECS, EKS, Docker).

Background in security best practices related to AWS DR and automation. Experience with large-scale enterprise DR programs.
