About the Role

The RTL Design Engineer sits inside Tata Elxsi's silicon and embedded systems practice, where teams work on chip architectures for automotive, communications, media, and healthcare customers. The focus is register-transfer-level design of digital IPs and subsystems: writing synthesizable Verilog and SystemVerilog, running lint and clock-domain-crossing checks, and validating the design through synthesis and timing analysis. Engineers partner with verification teams, shape sub-block micro-architecture from written specifications, and support FPGA prototyping and post-silicon bring-up when a design moves toward tape-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop micro-architecture for digital IPs and subsystems from written specifications
• Design and implement RTL using Verilog and SystemVerilog
• Run RTL quality checks including linting, clock-domain crossing and reset-domain crossing analysis, and synthesis validation
• Support SoC and IP integration efforts alongside architects and integrators
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with cross-functional teams
• Work with verification engineers to close design issues and reach quality sign-off
• Support FPGA prototyping and post-silicon bring-up activities
• Create and maintain design documentation as blocks move through the flow

Skills and Qualifications
