About PayPay

PayPay is a FinTech company that has grown to over 75M (as of August 2026) users since its launch in 2018. Our team is hugely diverse with members from over 50 different countries.

OUR VISION IS UNLIMITED_

We dare to believe that we do not need a clear vision to create a future beyond our imagination. PayPay will always stay true to our roots and realize a vision (future) that no one else can imagine by constantly taking risks and challenging ourselves. With this mindset, you will be presented with new and exciting opportunities on a daily basis and have the opportunity to grow and reach new dimensions that you could never have imagined. We are looking for people who can embrace this challenge, refresh the product at breakneck speed and promote PayPay with professionalism and passion.

Our team builds products that transform banking operations through technology, making them more seamless, efficient, and user-friendly. These include bank account opening, identity verification (eKYC), various operation related procedures, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and customer support.

After joining the company, you are expected to be seconded to PayPay Bank as a member of the above project.

We're expanding our team to strengthen our ability to work closely with business stakeholders, identify operational challenges, and drive end-to-end product solutions that create real business impact.

In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders to identify operational challenges and respond to regulatory and policy changes. You will define the target state for business processes and products by balancing customer experience, operational efficiency, business value, and regulatory compliance, driving solutions from concept through implementation.

Define What to Solve

  • You will proactively gather insights from business stakeholders and analyze data to identify business challenges. Taking business impact and regulatory requirements into account, you will determine which problems should be solved through products and prioritize them accordingly.

Design Business Processes and Customer Experiences

  • You will design optimal end-to-end experiences for both users and the organization including account opening, identity verification (KYC), customer information updates, inquiries, and risk management.

Drive Delivery from Requirements to Launch

  • You will translate use cases into Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and define functional requirements, including user interfaces, data models, and business rules. Working closely with designers and engineers, you will drive the entire product development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing and release.

Measure Impact and Drive Continuous Improvement

  • You will define KPIs such as operational efficiency, error rates, customer inquiries, and costs to measure the impact of product releases. Based on data and feedback from business teams, you will continuously improve both products and business processes.

Transform the Future of Banking Operations

Rather than simply digitizing existing workflows, you'll have the opportunity to rethink how banking operations should work. By redesigning business processes and replacing manual, paper-based operations with seamless digital experiences, you can drive meaningful transformation across the bank.

Make a Significant Impact to the Business

You'll work across a broad range of banking domains, including account opening, identity verification (KYC), customer procedures, customer support, and the platforms that power banking services. Your work will not only improve the customer experience but also directly contribute to greater operational efficiency, lower costs, and reduced risk.

We are looking for candidates with experience in web services, mobile applications, or enterprise systems, along with the following:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Systems Planning Manager.
  • Proven experience analyzing business processes and translating them into clear business and system requirements.
  • Strong technical ability to read and understand API specifications and technical documentation, and translate them into detailed product requirements.
  • Native or Business level Japanese proficiency
  • Willingness to communicate in English (using translation tools or generative AI is perfectly fine)
  • Knowledge of banking operations, including account opening, identity verification (eKYC), AML/CFT, lending, inheritance procedures, customer information updates, and customer support.
  • Experience driving product growth through growth hacking or growth-focused product initiatives.
  • Experience designing intuitive and user-centered UI/UX.
  • Passion for solving meaningful problems – You are motivated to deeply understand user and business challenges and take ownership of delivering effective product solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills – You can build trusted relationships and work effectively with engineers, designers, business stakeholders, and leadership to drive initiatives forward.
  • Analytical and structured thinking – You can cut through ambiguity, identify the root causes of complex problems, and develop clear, logical solutions.
  • Ownership and resilience – You embrace new challenges, remain resilient in the face of uncertainty, and are committed to seeing initiatives through to completion.
  • Hybrid Workstyle
  • In principle, 9:00am-5:45pm + 1h break (actual working hours: 7h45m + 1h break)
