About us

We are building an online research platform for Indian GST and indirect-tax law. The library is already substantial: over 2 lakh judgments and orders from the Supreme Court, High Courts and CESTAT, along with Acts, rules, notifications and circulars, and editorial headnotes written in-house.

A working research application (search, document reader, citator) is running privately. We are now preparing for a trial launch, followed by a public subscription launch with AI-assisted search.

The founder is a senior tax lawyer. The legal and editorial side is strong. We are looking for an experienced technical person to guide the technical side.

What you will do

Review the existing setup and advise on what should change before launch, and what should not.

Guide decisions on hosting, server sizing and monthly running costs.

Review proposals from developers and agencies, and help us judge candidates.

Advise on security before we take subscriber data and payments, and either carry out or arrange a security review.

Advise on adding AI-assisted search (answers drawn only from our own library, with citations), including realistic cost.

Guide and review the work of a junior technical team member.

Explain options and trade-offs in plain, non-technical language, so the founder can take informed decisions.

What we are looking for

8+ years of hands-on experience, including building and running at least one web platform with real users, logins and subscriptions or payments.

Practical experience with web application security and with hosting (cloud or dedicated servers), including keeping costs under control.

Familiarity with search systems; experience with AI or LLM-based search over documents is a strong plus.

A preference for simple, maintainable solutions over unnecessary rebuilding.

The ability and patience to explain technical matters clearly to a non-technical founder.

Integrity and transparency: all accounts, code and assets remain in the company's name, with everything documented.

Good to have

Experience with legal, publishing or content-heavy platforms.

Experience mentoring junior developers.

Startup or early-stage product experience.
