Network Provisioning NOC Engineer based at Mumbai

Job Description

Role Overview The Network Provisioning NOC Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end configuration, service activation, and testing of Broadband service, OLT configuration, and enterprise circuits. This role handles provisioning Layer-2

(EoMPLS/VPLS/QinQ) and Layer-3 (MPLS-VPN/Direct Internet) Point-to-Point (P2P)

links, staging and deploying MikroTik Cloud Core Routers (CCR) as BNG/BRAS nodes, and commissioning GPON/EPON Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) for last-mile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Configure Layer-2 P2P services using QinQ (802.1ad), VLAN stacking,

Pseudowires, VPLS, and EoMPLS.

Turn up Layer-3 P2P services, enterprise VRFs, static/BGP peering, and sub-

interfaces on Provider Edge (PE) routers.

MikroTik BNG / BRAS Staging & Deployment

Commission and harden MikroTik CCR routers for BNG roles (PPPoE Server, IPoE,

DHCP Server Option 82).

Configure CGNAT (Carrier-Grade NAT) rules, mangle tables, traffic queues/Simple

Queues, and RADIUS/AAA billing client hooks.

OLT Commissioning & Service Mapping

Provision and integrate GPON/EPON OLTs (Huawei, ZTE, VSOL, Syrotech) into the aggregation network.

Map line profiles, service profiles, DBA profiles, and Gemports to connect subscriber

ONUs/ONTs.

Throughput & Acceptance Testing

Run end-to-end loopback, RFC 2544, and ITU-T Y.1564 throughput tests (latency,

jitter, frame loss, MTU verification) to ensure zero-defect handoffs.

Maintain IP Address Management (IPAM) allocations, VLAN registers, circuit IDs,

and network topology records.

Formulate official Customer Acceptance Reports and sign-off handover documentation for the 24/7 Assurance NOC.

Target KPIs

 First-Time Right (FTR) Provisioning: of circuits activated without post-delivery configuration defects.

 Order Delivery Lead Time (ODLT): Commission logical services within 2–4

hours of physical link handoff.

 Acceptance Test Compliance: 100% of P2P links backed by validated RFC

2544 / latency test logs prior to customer handoff.

 IP & VLAN Record Accuracy: Zero configuration conflicts or undocumented subnet assignments in IPAM/VLAN registers.

Candidate Qualifications & Technical Skills

Routing & Switching: Solid command of VLAN trunking, QinQ, Static routing, OSPF,

BGP, and MPLS (L2VPN/L3VPN).

MikroTik RouterOS (v6 & v7): In-depth knowledge of CCR setup, Queues,

Firewall/NAT, PPPoE Server, BGP, and fast-track routing.

OLT / Access Tech: Practical experience with Huawei, ZTE, Nokia, or generic white-

box OLTs and GPON optical budget verification.

Carrier Switches/PE: Working familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or Huawei CLI.

Testing Tools: Experience with iperf3, hardware RFC 2544 test testers, and optical power meters.

Certifications (Preferred): CCNA, or JNCIA.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunications,

Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
