Network Monitoring Engineer Apprentice

VOIS is hiring for the role of Apprentice - Network Monitoring Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate

•

Monitor customer networks and network elements within defined service level agreements (SLAs).

•

Perform initial fault diagnosis and validate network alarms.

•

Report service-impacting incidents to customers and internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.

•

Create and manage trouble tickets for investigation and resolution by specialist teams.

•

Work closely with technical support teams, incident management teams, service desks, and first-line support functions.

•

Maintain operational excellence to support network availability and minimise service downtime.

•

Ensure accurate communication of faults and associated customer impact.

•

Contribute to continuous process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.

•

Participate in a 24x7 shift environment to support business and customer requirements.

•

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer service delivery.

Requirements

•

Engineering degree or Engineering Diploma.

•

Basic networking knowledge, preferably with exposure to Cisco networking technologies.

•

Understanding of

TCP/IP Protocol Suite

•

Basic Routing and Switching Concepts

•

Working knowledge of

Windows Operating Systems

•

Internet Browsers

•

Microsoft Office Applications

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Willingness to work rotational 24x7 shifts.

•

Approximately one year of experience within ISP, Telecom or Managed Services environments.

•

Experience working in a Network Operations Centre (NOC).

•

CCNA certification.

•

Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Networking.

•

Experience within a Managed Service Organisation.

•

Exposure to large-scale IP network environments.
