Junior Technician Biomedical Engineering

About the Role

Sushruta Hospital & Trauma Care Pvt. Ltd., Bhubaneswar, invites applications for the position of Junior Technician Biomedical Engineering to support the safe, reliable and efficient functioning of biomedical equipment across the hospital.

The incumbent will work closely with the Biomedical Engineer and clinical departments for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment inspection, installation support and maintenance documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of biomedical equipment.

Carry out routine preventive maintenance (PM) and basic corrective maintenance under the supervision of the Biomedical Engineer.

Attend breakdown calls from ICU, OT, Emergency, Wards, Laboratory and other clinical departments.

Troubleshoot basic electrical, electronic, mechanical and equipment-related faults.

• Assist in the maintenance of equipment such as:
• Patient monitors
• ECG machines
• Pulse oximeters
• Infusion and syringe pumps
• Nebulizers
• Suction machines
• Defibrillators
• Ventilators and anaesthesia machines
• Electrosurgical units
• Other medical and diagnostic equipment

Coordinate with OEM/service engineers and authorised vendors for equipment servicing and repairs.

Maintain records of equipment breakdowns, preventive maintenance, calibration and service activities.

Ensure that equipment service stickers, maintenance records and asset details are properly updated.

Assist in calibration and performance verification of biomedical equipment.

Support periodic inspection of equipment for electrical safety and operational condition.

Maintain the Biomedical Engineering workshop, tools, spare parts and technical inventory.

Ensure proper tagging and identification of biomedical equipment.

Assist in preparing equipment history cards and maintenance reports.

Immediately report equipment posing a safety risk to patients, attendants or hospital staff.

Follow hospital policies relating to patient safety, infection control, electrical safety and biomedical equipment management.

Maintain professional coordination with doctors, nurses, technicians and other hospital departments.

Perform other biomedical engineering duties assigned by the reporting authority.

Compensation: 13,000.00 - 20,000.00 per month
