Journalism Intern

This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on newsroom experience, work closely with experienced journalists and editors, and contribute to stories that inform and engage business readers.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop story ideas across business, startups, finance, technology, and corporate affairs.
• Assist journalists and editors with news gathering, background research, and fact-checking.
• Write news briefs, articles, interviews, profiles, and other editorial content under editorial guidance.
• Track breaking business news, industry developments, company announcements, and market trends.
• Conduct interviews with entrepreneurs, business leaders, industry experts, and other relevant sources.
• Monitor company websites, regulatory filings, press releases, social media, and other credible sources for story leads.
• Verify facts, figures, names, quotes, and other information before publication.
• Assist with editing, proofreading, headlines, and content optimization.
• Collaborate with the editorial, digital, and social media teams to develop engaging content.
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute fresh story ideas and perspectives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, English, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Excellent research and fact-checking abilities.
• Genuine interest in business, startups, finance, technology, and current affairs.
• Ability to identify interesting stories and news angles.
• Good understanding of basic journalistic principles and ethics.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
• Familiarity with digital media, social media, and content publishing platforms is a plus.
