Job Description

  • Develops dynamic, scalable web applications, working on both front-end and back-end components.
  • Implements responsive designs using frameworks and builds server-side logic with technologies.
  • Integrates APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and ensures seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Applies established development practices to deliver high-quality code.
  • Designs and develops complex Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Builds and maintains internal APIs for seamless interaction between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Integrates third-party Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to enhance application features and functionality.
  • Works with the team to optimize API performance, ensuring smooth data transfer and robust communication between systems.
  • Develops and executes test plans, including both manual and automated tests to ensure the quality and performance of web applications.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves moderate to complex bugs or issues in both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Utilizes testing frameworks and debugging tools to streamline the testing process and improve the overall quality of the application.
  • Works closely with the team to ensure that all features meet the required specifications and functionality.
  • Uses version control systems for branching, committing, and resolving merge conflicts.
  • Participates in code reviews and collaborates with other team members to ensure consistent and organized development.
  • Identifies and suggests version control best practices and contributes to improving the overall workflow, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in the codebase.
  • Deploys web applications, ensuring that they are correctly pushed to production.
  • Works with cloud platforms to ensure scalability and availability.
  • Troubleshoots deployment issues and optimizes processes to improve speed and reliability.
  • Monitors application performance post-deployment, addressing issues as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Possesses strong attention to detail. Applies advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address bugs or challenges. Possesses good skills in managing data efficiently across systems, applying strategies for data storage, retrieval, and processing. Capable of implementing security best practices to protect data. Possesses good knowledge and understanding of business metrics and the ability to align company goals and objectives with development strategies and initiatives. Demonstrates a solid understanding of user interface and user experience (UI/UX) principles. Consistent ability to work effectively across all levels in a highly dynamic environment. Demonstrates a proactive approach to innovation by identifying and applying emerging technologies to improve efficiency, quality and process optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. 3 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. If this position is subject to a background check for any convictions related to its responsibilities and requirements, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.

Additional Pay Range Information

CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

Additional Compensation

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
