ICT Teacher

Position: ICT Teacher – Middle School / High School (MS/HS)

Curriculum: Cambridge IGCSE

Location: The Indian Public School, Coimbatore

• Job Summary

The ICT Teacher will be responsible for teaching Information and Communication Technology to Middle School and High School students following the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. The role involves delivering engaging theoretical and practical lessons, developing students’ digital literacy and technical skills, preparing students for Cambridge assessments, and ensuring effective classroom management and academic progress.

• Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver ICT lessons in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and school academic standards.
• Teach theoretical concepts and practical ICT skills, including data management, spreadsheets, databases, document production, presentations, and other relevant syllabus topics.
• Develop students’ understanding of computer systems, networks, data security, and digital technologies as prescribed by the syllabus.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, worksheets, and practical activities.
• Conduct practical sessions and guide students in completing ICT coursework and examination-based tasks, where applicable.
• Assess students’ performance through tests, assignments, practical activities, and mock examinations.
• Monitor students’ academic progress and provide additional support to learners who require assistance.
• Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE examinations in accordance with the applicable syllabus and assessment requirements.
• Maintain accurate academic records, assessment reports, attendance, and student progress documentation.
• Integrate appropriate digital tools and technology into teaching and learning.
• Maintain discipline, encourage student participation, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, the HOD, and the HOS to support curriculum planning and academic improvement.
• Communicate students’ progress and learning concerns to parents and school management, as required.
• Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher meetings, training sessions, and other school activities.
• Ensure the responsible use of ICT resources and compliance with school policies and child safeguarding procedures.
• Educational Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, ICT, or a related discipline.
• Relevant qualifications or training in the Cambridge International curriculum will be an added advantage.
• Experience
• 3–5 years of teaching experience in ICT or Information Technology at the Middle School / High School level.
• Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum is preferred.
• Experience in preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE theory and practical examinations will be an advantage.
• Required Skills and Competencies
• Strong subject knowledge in ICT and practical computer applications.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and website authoring.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS for website development.
• Good classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and educational technology.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the academic team and contribute to curriculum development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
