Finance Manager – Finance & Accounting Operations

About the Role

Our consulting client is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the company's day-to-day finance and accounting operations and help bring these activities in-house.

This is an opportunity for someone who is comfortable working independently, taking ownership, identifying what needs to be done, and ensuring finance activities are completed accurately and on time. The role will work with an external CA firm primarily for audits, complex tax/accounting matters and specialized requirements, while routine finance operations will increasingly be managed internally.

Responsibilities

• Manage complete day-to-day finance and accounting operations
• Maintain books of accounts and financial records
• Manage vendor payments and payment cycles
• Prepare and process monthly payroll/salary
• Handle salary disbursement and related compliance
• Manage PF, GST and other statutory compliances
• Coordinate tax-related activities and documentation
• Maintain invoices, bills, supporting documents and financial records
• Track company expenses, payments, investments and other financial transactions
• Support internal financial reporting and management requirements
• Maintain documentation required for audits
• Coordinate with the external CA firm primarily for audits, complex tax/accounting matters and specialised requirements
• Ensure the company's routine finance activities can be handled independently in-house

What You Bring

• Experience in an IT, technology, services or start-up environment preferred
• Hands-on experience with accounting, payroll and statutory compliance
• Strong understanding of GST, PF, taxation and vendor payments
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day finance operations
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to identify priorities and execute independently
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working in a relatively small and entrepreneurial organisation
• Candidates with slightly lower experience may also be considered where they demonstrate strong hands-on exposure, ownership and willingness to learn

Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
