Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Criminal Lawyer role based in Pratapgarh. The Criminal Lawyer will handle case files from initial client consultation through final disposition, including legal research, drafting complaints, motions, and petitions, and preparing case strategies. Daily responsibilities include appearing before courts, examining and cross-examining witnesses, negotiating with opposing counsel, and advising clients on legal rights and options. The role also involves reviewing evidence, coordinating with investigators or experts, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with procedural and ethical standards. The lawyer will collaborate with colleagues within the chamber, participate in case discussions, and contribute to the overall development of the practice.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law, with a recognized law degree (LL.B or equivalent) and strong academic foundation in criminal law and procedure.
• Demonstrated experience or internships in criminal litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and appearing in court.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and case-building abilities, with attention to detail in reviewing evidence and legal documents.
• Clear, confident oral and written communication skills for client counseling, courtroom argument, and preparation of legal documents.
• High level of professional ethics, discretion, and resilience when handling sensitive matters and working under time-sensitive conditions.
• Ability to work on-site in Pratapgarh, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and collaborate effectively within a litigation team.
• Familiarity with local criminal court practices and procedures; prior experience in trial work is an advantage.
• Proficiency with basic office software and legal research tools; willingness to stay updated on changes in criminal law and jurisprudence.
