Role Description The Branch Manager for the Calicut Branch at Starlaa NBFC will oversee day-to-day branch operations, including loan processing, customer service, cash management, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines. This full-time, on-site role in Kozhikode involves leading and mentoring the branch team, setting sales and collection targets, monitoring performance, and ensuring efficient workflows. The Branch Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with local customers, businesses, and partner organizations to drive branch growth and increase portfolio quality. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving applications within delegated authority, managing risk and delinquency, preparing periodic reports, and ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping. The role requires active participation in local marketing initiatives, resolving customer issues promptly, and representing Starlaa NBFC’s values in all branch activities.

Qualifications

• Strong branch operations management skills, including cash handling, documentation oversight, and adherence to NBFC policies and regulatory norms.
• Proficiency in sales and business development within financial services, with experience in retail lending, MSME lending, or consumer finance preferred.
• Experience in credit evaluation and risk management, including basic financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, and delinquency control.
• Ability to lead and coach teams, manage performance, delegate responsibilities, and foster a collaborative and accountable work culture.
• Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to handle escalations and maintain service quality standards.
• Comfort with using core banking or NBFC software systems, MS Office tools, and digital channels for reporting and customer engagement.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, business administration, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in management or finance is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a branch manager or senior officer role in a bank, NBFC, or other financial institution, ideally within the Kozhikode/Calicut region.
• Strong ethical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory compliance and responsible lending practices.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Kozhikode, with flexibility to engage in field visits and local market activities.
