Accountant and import export manager with sales experience

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for an Accountant and Import Export Manager with sales experience. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting activities, including bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, reconciliations, invoicing, and supporting financial reporting. The position also requires managing import and export operations, preparing and reviewing export documentation, coordinating with freight forwarders and customs agents, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. The individual will support sales activities by preparing quotations, following up with clients, coordinating order processing, and contributing to pricing and negotiation based on cost and margin analysis. The role includes close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely shipments, accurate documentation, and strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication for internal coordination and client interaction.
• Knowledge of export and import export processes, including basic understanding of logistics, customs procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with export documentation and international trade practices, ensuring accuracy and compliance for cross-border transactions.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, bookkeeping, GST and tax basics, and use of accounting software or ERP systems.
• Sales experience in a trading or import–export environment, with ability to manage client relationships and support order-to-cash cycles.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and ability to work with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, International Business, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in an import–export or trading company in Mumbai or similar markets will be an advantage.
