Vice President, DevOps Engineer

The Company is seeking a DevOps Engineer at the Vice President level to play a key role in the development of its DevOps engineering capability and culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and coaching feature and platform teams to enhance their DevOps skills, driving continuous improvements, and ensuring a focus on the end customer experience. This role involves assessing the current technical capabilities of the teams, identifying gaps, and supporting their development through learning workshops and training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in portfolio management support roles, with a focus on portfolio types, and hold relevant qualifications such as Prince 2, Scrum, Agile, or SAFe portfolio management.

As a DevOps Engineer, the role also includes promoting technical and cultural change, and accelerating the adoption of DevOps best practices. The candidate should have 8-10 years of experience in DevOps and be well-versed in tools and technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, and AWS. Responsibilities will extend to demonstrating how to measure and visualize the flow of value, advising on suitable DevOps capability uplifts, and providing feedback to enhance policies, standards, and practices. The ideal candidate will be adept at making data-driven decisions, with a strong emphasis on return on investment and value measures, and will be committed to the thoughtful and intelligent management of costs.
