Detailed Job Description

As a Telecom Mediation Support Engineer supporting Nokia Data Refinery and CGF platforms across multiple technology hubs (Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, NCR) via Bharat Jobs, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of mediation system availability, incident management, and data flow integrity. Your day-to-day responsibilities include supporting and troubleshooting Nokia Data Refinery / Charging Gateway Function (CGF) and telecom mediation systems, managing offline charging architecture and Call Detail Record (CDR) processing for voice, SMS, and data services, and mastering ASN decoding and end-to-end mediation workflows (Collect -> Decode -> Process -> Encode -> Distribute). You will manage production incidents, ticket lifecycles, impact assessments, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive actions, monitoring incident status through Open, Closed, Reverted, and Monitoring stages. Furthermore, you will perform Linux/Unix troubleshooting, service restarts, log analysis, disk-space management, cron-job administration, SFTP support, user account administration, virtual machine (VM) migration activities, database health checks, index and storage management, basic SQL queries, and database recovery-related support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and troubleshoot Nokia Data Refinery / Charging Gateway Function (CGF) and enterprise telecom mediation systems.
• Manage offline charging architecture and high-volume Call Detail Record (CDR) processing pipelines for voice, SMS, and data services.
• Handle ASN decoding and end-to-end mediation workflows spanning Collect, Decode, Process, Encode, and Distribute stages.
• Manage production incidents, ticket lifecycles, impact assessments, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor incident status diligently through Open, Closed, Reverted, and Monitoring lifecycle stages.
• Execute Linux/Unix troubleshooting, service restarts, log analysis, disk-space management, cron-job administration, and SFTP support.
• Support user account administration, system provisioning, and virtual machine (VM) migration activities.
• Perform database health checks, index and storage management, basic SQL queries, and database recovery support.
• Coordinate seamlessly with enterprise customers and internal technical teams to resolve production issues and maintain service continuity.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 to 12 years of professional experience in telecom mediation, charging systems, or operational support.
• Expert practical proficiency in Nokia Data Refinery and Charging Gateway Function (CGF) administration and support.
• Strong comprehensive knowledge of offline charging architectures, CDR processing, and ASN decoding.
• Proven expertise in end-to-end mediation data workflows (Collect, Decode, Process, Encode, Distribute).
• Solid Linux/Unix system administration, log analysis, cron-job administration, and SFTP support capabilities.
• Experience with database health checks, SQL querying, and database recovery support.
• Excellent customer coordination, incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and cross-functional communication skills.
• Mandatory legal eligibility to work in India with local residency and availability for on-site operations across Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, or NCR.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Professional certifications in Nokia Charging Gateway Function or telecom mediation suites.
• Advanced scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl) for mediation log parsing and automation.
• Experience with cloud-native mediation deployments, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and telecom cloud environments.
• Prior professional experience in Tier-1 telecommunications operator environments or managed services contracts.
