Technical Lead - Full Stack

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical design of core platform modules: search, property listings, AI integration, user accounts, and realtor flows.
• Lead code reviews across the team and establish coding standards, patterns, and best practices that are followed consistently.
• Break down complex features into well-scoped, independently deliverable tasks for full-stack and mobile engineers.
• Identify and resolve technical debt proactively before it becomes a delivery or reliability risk.
• Mentor Software Engineers through pairing sessions, design reviews, and structured feedback on their code.
• Own end-to-end technical delivery of major releases, coordinating with the Project Manager on timelines and dependencies.
• Make and document key technical decisions including the approach taken, trade-offs considered, and alternatives rejected.
• Collaborate with the CTO on architecture evolution as the platform grows in data volume and user load.
• Represent the engineering team in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and AI/Data teams.
• Participate in hiring, conducting technical interviews and assessing candidates for engineering roles.

Requirements

• Experience: 6-8 years of full-stack engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or Senior Lead role.
• Full Stack: Genuine mastery of both frontend (React/Next.js ) and backend (Node.js ), not a preference, a capability.
• Architecture: Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable systems and clearly articulate trade-offs to the team.
• Database: Deep PostgreSQL expertise in schema design, indexing strategy, query optimisation, and migration management.
• Cloud: Strong cloud-native experience on AWS or GCP beyond just deploying to EC2
• Leadership: Track record of leading a small engineering team to consistent, high-quality delivery under real deadline pressure.
• Communication: Excellent written communication; your design documents are read and referenced, not filed away.
• AI: Experience integrating AI/ML APIs or third-party intelligence services into a production product.

Tech Stack

• Frontend: React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS; you are strong here, not just familiar.
• Backend: Node.js, REST APIs, microservices architecture.
• Database: PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, query performance), Redis.
• Cloud: AWS or GCP deep hands-on experience with compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
• AI integration: LLM APIs, embedding pipelines, vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector).
• Tooling: Git, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes or ECS.
