This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who can bridge innovation and production, leading the implementation of AI-powered systems that deliver measurable business impact beyond the research stage.

Detailed Job Description

As a Technical Lead, you will spearhead the design, development, validation, and deployment of enterprise-grade Computer Vision solutions for industrial manufacturing environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, quality, and compliance stakeholders to create scalable AI-powered inspection and automation systems. The role requires deep expertise in machine vision, deep learning, MLOps, and production deployment, combined with hands-on experience operating within regulated environments governed by GMP/GxP standards. You will oversee the full AI lifecycle, from model development and validation through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering validated Computer Vision solutions that operate successfully in real-world manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of Computer Vision and AI/ML solutions for manufacturing operations.
  • Design and implement deep learning models for object detection, OCR, image segmentation, anomaly detection, and quality inspection.
  • Develop scalable machine vision systems that support automation and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Oversee AI model validation, compliance, and qualification activities within regulated environments.
  • Drive deployment of AI solutions into production environments using MLOps best practices.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams to define business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Implement Edge AI solutions for real-time monitoring and industrial process optimization.
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated model deployment frameworks.
  • Monitor model performance and continuously improve accuracy, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership for AI and Computer Vision projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in AI/ML, Computer Vision, or Machine Vision system development.
  • Strong expertise in Computer Vision and Deep Learning technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Object Detection, OCR, Image Segmentation, and Anomaly Detection techniques.
  • Advanced programming proficiency in Python.
  • Strong experience with OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
  • Proven experience deploying Computer Vision solutions in production manufacturing environments.
  • Deep understanding of Industrial Manufacturing Systems and Machine Vision applications.
  • Experience with GMP, GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), GAMP5, and IQ/OQ/PQ validation methodologies.
  • Expertise in MLOps, model lifecycle management, monitoring, and governance.
  • Experience with Edge AI deployments and real-time inference architectures.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based AI deployment platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and complex AI initiatives.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud AI services.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized ML workloads.
  • Experience with IoT and smart manufacturing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation programs in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience integrating Computer Vision systems with MES, ERP, or industrial automation platforms.

Recruitment Pro Tip

For this role, employers will prioritize candidates who can demonstrate successful deployment and validation of Computer Vision solutions in live manufacturing environments. Clearly highlight production implementations, compliance validation experience (GMP/GxP, CSV, GAMP5), measurable business outcomes, and examples where your AI models moved beyond proof-of-concept into fully operational manufacturing systems.
