As a Tech Lead, you'll be the technical anchor for our engineering team, responsible for system architecture, code quality, and team growth. You'll work closely with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, make critical architecture decisions, and ensure we're building scalable, maintainable systems. You'll spend time coding, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and setting technical standards that enable the team to move fast while maintaining quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture and system design for MERN/MEAN stack applications
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions that handle growth
• Write production-quality code and set coding standards for the team
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide technical guidance to engineers
• Mentor and coach engineers at all levels, fostering their technical growth
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on technical feasibility and architecture
• Make critical technical decisions and trade-offs balancing speed, quality, and scalability
• Drive adoption of best practices, design patterns, and engineering standards
• Identify technical debt and create plans to address it systematically
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and design sessions
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system architecture
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and DevOps practices
• Ensure security best practices are followed across all systems
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead incident response
• Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for adoption
• Work with stakeholders to estimate effort, plan sprints, and deliver features

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with MERN/MEAN stack
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and Node.js
• Deep expertise in React and/or Angular, including advanced patterns, performance optimization, and state management
• Strong experience building and scaling RESTful APIs and microservices with Express.js
• Expert knowledge of MongoDB, including advanced querying, indexing, sharding, and performance tuning
• Experience designing and implementing scalable system architectures
• Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and query optimization
• Proficient in modern frontend technologies (React, Angular, TypeScript, build tools, testing frameworks)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure as code
• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration
• Understanding of security best practices, authentication, authorization, and data protection
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex distributed systems
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading technical planning
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Server/Client
• Knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and service mesh
• Experience with message queues, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems
• Understanding of real-time systems (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, Socket.io)
