Job Description & Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • End-to-End Operational Ownership
  • Lead complete cargo lifecycle management — booking to discharge.
  • Oversee vessel planning, cargo allocation, stowage compliance, and

turnaround performance.

  • Ensure optimal utilization of fleet capacity and port infrastructure.
  • Drive service reliability and schedule adherence across GCC ports.
  • Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure strict adherence to maritime regulations, port authority norms,

customs requirements, and international shipping standards.

  • Govern SOP adherence and internal control frameworks.
  • Lead internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation

initiatives.

  • Maintain system integrity across cargo management platforms (ERP, TOS,

Cargo Management Systems).

  • Financial & Cost Control Accountability
  • Own operational P&L components including port costs, demurrage,

detention, stevedoring, and vessel turnaround costs.

  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service standards.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Improve contribution margins through operational efficiency.
  • Performance & KPI Governa• Establish and monitor KPIs such as:

o Vessel Turnaround Time (TAT)

o Berth productivity

o Cargo damage/loss ratio

o Port cost per TEU/ton

o On-time sailing performance

o Drive continuous improvement programs.

  • Stakeholder & Vendor Leadership
  • Manage relationships with port authorities, terminal operators, customs

officials, freight forwarders, and shipping agents across GCC.

  • Oversee contracts and SLAs with service providers.
  • Partner closely with Commercial, Finance, Safety, and Technical teams.
  • Digital & Systems Governance
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of cargo documentation and operational

systems.

  • Drive digitalization initiatives and process automation.
  • Lead system enhancements for planning, tracking, and financial control.
  • Team & Organizational Leadership
  • Lead multi-location GCC operations teams.
  • Build leadership strength and succession planning.
  • Foster a safety-first, compliance-driven, performance-oriented culture

  • You may have to work a different shift based on business requirements.
  • Should be willing to travel for business requirements
