Progenesis IVF has been providing fertility care since 2014, offering a full range of treatments including IVF, egg and embryo freezing, male fertility preservation and donor programmes. Our in-house technology team builds and maintains the software that supports our doctors, clinical staff and operations teams across our centres.

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate PHP Laravel Developer with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our team as a Software Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust, scalable full-stack applications using Laravel, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from front-end applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable full-stack web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs that respond reliably and quickly to requests from front-end applications.
• Add new features and enhancements to existing software while maintaining stability and code quality.
• Gather and analyse requirements from clinical, operations and business stakeholders, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design database schemas and write efficient queries in MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Optimise applications for performance, responsiveness and scalability.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of patient and organisational data by following secure coding practices — input validation, authentication, role-based access control, encryption of sensitive data, and protection against common vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, XSS and CSRF (OWASP Top 10).
• Comply with data-protection requirements, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, and internal data-security policies, when handling sensitive health information.
• Write clean, well-structured and maintainable code following OOP principles and best practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Codex to improve productivity and code quality.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC within an Agile team — planning, development, code review, testing, deployment and support.
• Take ownership of assigned modules and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience & Education

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in PHP development.
• Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of the PHP language and the Laravel framework.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Good understanding of JavaScript.
• Good understanding of API development, including RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, etc.

Process & Professional Skills

• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Good understanding of Agile methodology.
• Good communication and requirement-gathering skills.
• Passionate about software development.

Good to Have

• Good understanding of AWS.
• Good understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience working on healthcare projects.
