Job Overview:
Service Engineer with expertise in LED products including drivers, LED lights, and Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). The primary focus of this role is to perform product failure analysis, conduct fault finding, and execute Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on malfunctioning LED systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing failures, and providing technical reports to ensure the highest level of product reliability and customer satisfaction.
1. Product Failure Analysis:
Conduct Product failure analysis on LED lights, LED drivers, and SMPS units that are malfunctioning or have experienced system breakdowns.
Analyze the performance and condition of components like capacitors, resistors, transistors, and other key parts of LED drivers and power supplies.
Identify patterns in failures, including frequent issues and common failures across products, to ensure effective resolution.
2. Fault Finding and Troubleshooting:
Diagnose faults in LED lights and drivers, including flickering, dimming, overheating, or complete failure.
Troubleshoot SMPS units to identify issues such as power irregularities, short circuits, or failure to supply power to LED lights.
Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal cameras) to locate defective components or circuit issues.
Repair or replace faulty components such as transistors, capacitors, or other power electronics.
3. Root Cause Analysis (RCA):
Conduct comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify the underlying reasons behind recurring failures in LED driver and SMPS.
Document RCA findings and provide actionable insights to design, engineering, or production teams to improve product design or manufacturing processes.
4. Testing and Verification:
Conduct functional tests on repaired or replaced components to verify their performance against specifications.
Ensure that LED lights and drivers are operating efficiently and that SMPS units are providing stable and regulated output to the connected LED systems.
Perform testing on repaired systems to confirm long-term stability and performance.
Provide expert technical support to Service engineers regarding product issues, offering troubleshooting assistance and guidance.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of all failure analyses, fault findings, and RCA reports.
Provide customers and internal teams with detailed technical reports outlining the nature of the failure, corrective actions taken, and recommendations for future maintenance or improvements.
Record and analyze data trends to help identify recurring issues that may require design changes or process improvements.
Work closely with product design, engineering, and quality control teams to provide feedback on failure trends and suggest design or manufacturing improvements.
Share insights from RCA to help guide the development of more reliable products.
