Senior UI/UX Designer

Unico Connect is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead product design strategy across multiple client engagements spanning B2B SaaS, FinTech, healthcare, and mobile apps. The role owns design systems architecture, user research programs, and the design-engineering handoff that ensures production fidelity. The position is well suited to senior designers who have shipped systems at production scale and want to mentor a growing design practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead design end-to-end for 2-3 client products: discovery, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity design, handoff
• Architect and maintain scalable design systems with documented tokens, components, and interaction patterns
• Run user research programs including interviews, surveys, usability tests, and accessibility audits
• Mentor 2-3 Junior and Mid-Level designers; lead portfolio reviews and design critiques
• Partner with Product Managers on roadmap planning; influence what gets built, not just how it looks
• Drive weekly design rituals including critiques, design system reviews, and accessibility audits
• Represent design in client conversations, pitches, and architecture review sessions
• Define design quality metrics including handoff defect rate, post-launch usability scores, and accessibility coverage
• Author internal design guidelines covering accessibility, motion, internationalisation, and dark mode
• Coordinate with frontend engineers on design tokens, component APIs, and visual regression testing
• Lead design hiring loops; calibrate portfolios and case studies against the senior bar

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UI/UX design experience with at least 1 senior or lead role on a shipped product
• Portfolio demonstrating work on complex B2B SaaS, FinTech, healthcare, or mobile app projects
• Demonstrated experience building or maintaining a design system from initial scaffold to multi-product adoption
• Deep Figma proficiency including variables, advanced prototyping, dev mode, and design-token workflows
• Strong user research background with experience selecting methods, synthesising findings, and presenting to stakeholders
• Excellent communication; able to defend design decisions with research, data, and clear documentation
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level designers across portfolio reviews and design critiques
• Hands-on with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) and inclusive design practices
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• Experience working directly with international clients across multiple time zones
