Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Backend Engineer / Technical Lead

to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a passionate backend engineer who

enjoys building scalable distributed systems, leveraging AI technologies, and mentoring

engineering teams while driving technical excellence.

Role Overview

As a Senior Python Backend Engineer / Technical Lead, you will be responsible for

designing and developing scalable backend applications, architecting distributed systems,

integrating AI/ML capabilities, and delivering high-quality software solutions. You will

collaborate with cross-functional teams to build cloud-native, high-performance applications

while contributing to architecture, engineering best practices, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & Architecture

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and

FastAPI.

Build secure, high-performance REST APIs and microservices.

Design reusable, maintainable, and scalable software components.

Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.

Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

Design fault-tolerant distributed systems for enterprise-scale applications.

AI/ML & Intelligent Systems

Integrate AI/ML models into production applications.

Build APIs and backend services for AI-powered solutions.

Work with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented

Generation (RAG) architectures

Collaborate with Data Science and AI teams to deploy, optimize, and monitor AI

workloads.

Evaluate AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.

Database & Data Engineering

Design efficient database schemas and optimize data access patterns.

Write highly optimized SQL queries for large datasets.

Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.

Work extensively with PostgreSQL and Snowflake.

Platform Engineering & Microservices

Design and implement microservices-based applications.

Build asynchronous and event-driven processing systems.

Develop service integrations and RESTful APIs.

Implement observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting.

Contribute to CI/CD automation and deployment processes.

Leadership & Collaboration

Conduct code reviews andestablish engineering best practices.

Mentor junior engineers and support technical growth within the team.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA teams, and business stakeholders

to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

68 years of professional software development experience.

Strong expertise in backend application development using Python.

Hands-on experience with FastAPI and modern API development.

Experience building scalable, high-throughput backend systems.

Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency.

Software Architecture

Experience designing scalable distributed systems.

Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.

Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.

Knowledge of caching, resiliency, scalability, and performance optimization.

AI/ML

Experience integrating AI/ML models into production applications.

Good understanding of LLMs, Prompt Engineering, Embeddings, Vector

Databases, and RAG architectures.

Experience exposing AI capabilities through APIs.

Familiarity with AI development frameworks and model deployment.

Databases

Advanced expertise in PostgreSQL.

Strong experience with Snowflake.

Strong SQL optimization and database performance tuning skills.

DevOps & Engineering Practices

Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Understanding of cloud-native application deployment.

Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Experience with workflow orchestration platforms.

Knowledge of Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.

Experience building data-intensive platforms.

Exposure to MLOps and AI model lifecycle management.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Prior experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.
