Role Overview

Acts as the investigative engine of the clean-up project. This individual takes the discrepancies identified by the clerical tier, investigates the root causes within the support files, and prepares the correcting journal entries.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate old transactions into the new layout, investigating and correcting commissions and firm remits.
• Adjust remit invoices and contingency cost invoices for discrepancies, ensuring a perfect tie-out.
• Review Firm entries against TYM (This Year/Month) and post correcting journal entries.
• Investigate unmatched bank feed transactions and trace cash discrepancies.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for the year and tie out clearing accounts.
• Prepare adjusting entries and escalate only the most complex, systemic issues to the Controller level.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4–7 years of accounting experience. Strong background in reconciliations, discrepancy investigation, and full-cycle accounting.
• Familiarity with legal or professional services billing is highly preferred.
