Job Description & Responsibilities

Role Overview:Our client, a leading shipping MNC with a global presence, is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for Chemical Tanker operations based in Singapore. As a seasoned maritime professional, you will play a critical role in overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of a tanker fleet to drive performance, compliance, and commercial results.Key Responsibilities:- Manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned chemical tanker fleet, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.- Lead cross-functional coordination across technical, marine, crewing, vetting, and commercial functions to optimize operational uptime and performance.- Oversee cargo readiness, voyage planning, and vetting performance to meet charterer and regulatory requirements.- Mentor and manage a team of Superintendents and operational staff, promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional development.- Implement digital tools, process improvements, and cost control initiatives to enhance fleet Engage with classification societies, port state authorities, flag states, and clients on operational and compliance Review and enhance operational KPIs, conduct incident investigations, and perform risk assessments to ensure timely resolution and preventive actions.- Support budget planning, cost optimization, and ensure P&L; responsibilities are met.Qualifications Required:- Hold a Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Deck) or Master/Captain level with experience sailing on chemical tankers.- Possess a minimum of 5 years in a senior fleet management or operations/HSEQ role (Manager/Senior Manager level) with direct responsibility for chemical tanker Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of chemical tanker operations, cargo handling, vetting (SIRE/CDI), OCIMF standards, ISM/ISPS/MLC codes, and international maritime Exhibit strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.- Have excellent decision-making, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.- Show commercial awareness and the ability to balance operational efficiency with client requirements and regulatory compliance.- Be people-oriented and dedicated to developing shipboard teams.- Possess business acumen to manage budgetary responsibilities for multiple vessels effectively.- Be able to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.- Stay updated with the latest regulatory requirements and their implementation.
