Senior Java Software Engineer - Immediate Joiners & F2F interview is Mandatory

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in designing and building scalable, secure, high-performance backend platforms. This is a backend-focused engineering role for someone who can own technical design, build robust Java microservices and APIs, make sound database and integration decisions, and solve complex distributed-systems problems.

The engineer will work closely with product, architecture, DevOps, QA, and frontend teams, while taking ownership of backend quality from design through production support. Modern senior Java backend roles commonly emphasize Java/Spring Boot microservices, event-driven design, API development, distributed systems, cloud deployment, and performance/reliability engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Own the technical design of backend services, including service boundaries, API contracts, data models, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices for internal and external consumers.
• Participate actively in system-design and architecture discussions, translating business requirements into reliable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Design for scalability, availability, performance, resilience, security, observability, and operational supportability.
• Define and implement microservice communication patterns, including synchronous REST/gRPC calls and asynchronous messaging.
• Develop robust integrations with internal platforms, third-party systems, databases, message brokers, and external APIs.
• Design database schemas, optimize SQL queries, implement efficient data-access layers, and select suitable persistence strategies.
• Build automated unit, integration, contract, and API tests to ensure backend quality.
• Participate in code reviews, establish coding standards, and improve engineering practices across the team.
• Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, release readiness, and production monitoring.
• Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes and preventive engineering measures.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on Java, backend design, API design, and engineering best practices.

Core Technical Skills

• 5 - 7 years of hands-on backend software development experience using Java.
• Strong expertise in Java 11/17/21, including collections, concurrency, streams, multithreading, JVM fundamentals, exception handling, and performance optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate/JPA, Spring Security, and dependency injection.
• Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend microservices.
• Good understanding of API lifecycle management, versioning, pagination, validation, error handling, rate limiting, and backward compatibility.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, clean code, refactoring, and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• Strong knowledge of Git, pull requests, code reviews, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle, JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and API-testing tools.

Advanced Backend & Design Skills

• Strong experience designing cloud-native, distributed, and microservices-based systems.
• Ability to define meaningful microservice boundaries, data ownership, service contracts, and integration patterns.
• Experience with event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous processing, idempotency, retries, dead-letter queues, eventual consistency, and failure-handling patterns.
• Experience with resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, timeouts, bulkheads, retry strategies, fallback mechanisms, and rate limiting.
• Knowledge of domain-driven design, domain modeling, bounded contexts, and domain events.
• Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency backend systems and optimizing JVM, database, API, and caching performance.
• Hands-on experience with caching technologies such as Redis, Caffeine, or Memcached.
• Strong understanding of database transaction management, indexing, query optimization, connection pooling, and data consistency.
• Experience designing secure APIs with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, RBAC, encryption, secrets management, audit logging, and Spring Security.
• Ability to create technical design documents, sequence diagrams, data-flow diagrams, API specifications, and architecture proposals.
