Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, securing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and microservices.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Kafka, APIs, Docker, AWS, and modern DevOps practices. Experience with

AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code Assist is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and secure scalable backend services using

Java (Java 8–21), Spring Boot, and Node.js (v16/v22).

• Design and develop high-performance microservices and REST APIs.
• Manage API gateway integrations and API lifecycle using Apigee.
• Build and maintain event-driven, asynchronous, and high-throughput systems using

Apache Kafka, AWS MSK, or equivalent messaging platforms.

• Design, optimize, and maintain database objects, queries, and integrations using

PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

• Manage and enhance existing Email and SMS middleware platforms for support, development, performance improvement, and reliability.
• Work with communication platforms such as SparkPost, Twilio, Syniverse, or similar platforms.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git.
• Work with containerization and cloud platforms including Docker, OpenShift (ROSA), and AWS.
• Monitor application performance and system health using New Relic and ELK Stack.
• Implement best practices for API security, authentication, authorization, and secure backend development.
• Collaborate with internal application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code Assist, while following governance, privacy, code provenance, and security guidelines.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of AI tool limitations, security risks, and development guardrails.

Required Skills

• 8–10 years of experience in backend application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8–21.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js (v16/v22).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS MSK, or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API Design, API Security, and API Gateway concepts.
• Experience with Apigee.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, OpenShift (ROSA), Jenkins, and Git.
• Experience with AWS Cloud.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic and ELK Stack.
• Good understanding of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code Assist.
• Understanding of AI governance, prompt patterns, privacy, security, code provenance, and development guardrails.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SparkPost or other Email Communication Platforms.
• Experience with Twilio, Syniverse, or other SMS Communication Platforms.
• Experience managing Email and SMS middleware platforms.
• Experience working with high-volume, enterprise-scale communication systems.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native application architecture.
