Senior Full Stack Developer

## About the Company

Rodeo Digital is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join their team as a hands-on individual contributor who also mentors junior engineers. This role involves owning features end-to-end on the Rodeo commerce platform and is expected to bring deep fundamentals, sound architectural judgement, and the ability to raise the bar for engineering quality across the team.

## About the Role

The Senior Full Stack Developer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of features, from technical design and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment. The role requires a deep understanding of scalable web architecture, security, and performance best practices, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

## Key Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of features — from technical design and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment
• Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code across the frontend and backend
• Design and implement APIs and services using Node.js, and build interactive UIs using React
• Model and manage data across relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) stores
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments on AWS
• Participate actively in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
• Identify technical risks early and proactively propose solutions or trade-offs to stakeholders
• Champion engineering best practices including testing, observability, security, and performance
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

## Requirements

• 5-8 years of hands-on full stack development experience, with a track record of owning features end-to-end
• Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and React
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deploying on AWS
• Deep understanding of fundamental computer science and software engineering concepts — data structures, algorithms, system design, and design patterns
• Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers or acting as a technical point of contact for a team
• Strong understanding of scalable web architecture, security, and performance best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as an individual contributor
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across product, design, and engineering stakeholders

## Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on ecommerce or multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS
