Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

A cybersecurity engineer designs, builds, and maintains secure technical infrastructure. They deploy firewalls, configure intrusion detection systems, monitor networks for threats in real time, patch vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents to protect organizational data and assets. Core Responsibilities

• Design & Architecture: Build secure network topologies, cloud environments (AWS, Azure), and zero-trust access controls.
• Threat Monitoring: Run SIEM tools, configure endpoint detection and response (EDR), and analyze live traffic anomalies.
• Vulnerability Management: Perform regular penetration testing, code reviews, and vulnerability scans to fix weaknesses before exploitation.
• Incident Response: Investigate security breaches, contain active threats, trace root causes, and automate recovery workflows.
• Compliance & Policy: Enforce security standards and frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 ]

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting/coding (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript), network protocols, Linux/Windows OS hardening, and cryptography. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]
• Tools: Experience with firewalls, Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and cloud security postures. [ 1 ]
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). [ 1 , 2 ]
• Certifications: Industry credentials such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or OSCP. [ 1 , 2 ]
