Senior Backend Developer - Java & Cloud

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Backend Developer with 10+ years of expertise in designing, developing and delivering enterprise‑grade backend applications using Java technologies. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, GCP, and SQL, with proven leadership capabilities in delivering scalable, cloud‑native solutions.

Job Title: Sr. Backend Developer

Location: Trivandrum, Kochi, Chennai

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise solutions using Java/J2EE following multi‑tier architecture principles.
• Develop scalable applications using Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate.
• Build and maintain cloud‑native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with AWS or Azure is an added advantage.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, Web Services and Microservices with knowledge of API Management Gateways.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is desirable.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, SONAR and Rundeck.
• Ensure security best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including secure coding standards.
• Analyze user stories, provide effort estimates and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Lead a team of 10–15 developers in designing, developing, deploying and supporting enterprise applications.
• Mentor team members by providing technical guidance, code reviews and troubleshooting support.
• Participate throughout the project lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production support.
• Collaborate effectively in Agile and Scaled Agile development environments.
• Quickly adapt to emerging technologies and contribute to digital transformation initiatives.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Java/J2EE development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate and Microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud‑native architecture and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, Web Services and API Gateways.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, SONAR, Nexus and Rundeck.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and SDLC security principles.
• Experience leading development teams of 10-15 members.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scaled Agile development environments.
