Senior Android Developer (Android + Qt/QML)

About the Role

SuppleSoft Digital is hiring an experienced Senior Android Developer to support a long-term engagement with our USA-based client, Linden. This role requires strong expertise in native Android development along with hands-on experience in Qt/QML for developing cross-platform applications.

The ideal candidate should have experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade mobile applications while collaborating with global engineering teams in an Agile environment.

Important: Qt/QML development experience is mandatory. Candidates without commercial Qt/QML experience will not be considered.Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Design and implement cross-platform mobile applications using Qt/QML.
• Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable application components.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and client stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and UI automation.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers when required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Required Skills & QualificationsAndroid Development

• 7–10 years of professional Android application development.
• Expert knowledge of Android SDK.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Android Jetpack libraries.
• Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with Android Framework components and lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of Material Design principles.

Qt/QML (Mandatory)

• Hands-on experience with Qt Framework and Qt Quick.
• Strong knowledge of QML declarative programming.
• Experience using Qt Creator IDE.
• Experience integrating C++ with QML.
• Cross-platform application development for Android and Desktop.
• Familiarity with Qt build systems (qmake/CMake).

Testing & Development Practices

• Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• JUnit.
• Mockito.
• Espresso.
• Dependency Injection using Dagger.
• UI automation using Appium.

Additional Technical Skills

• RESTful API integration.
• JSON/XML parsing.
• Git version control.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Design Patterns and Object-Oriented Programming.
• UML and Low-Level Design.
• RDBMS and SQLite.
• Performance tuning and debugging.
• Android Studio profiling and debugging tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with J2EE and Web Services.
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Firebase integration.
• Google Play Store release management.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale mobile applications.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
