SAP SD/MM Consultant

## The role

You will ensure SAP SD and MM deliver efficient order-to-cash and procure-to-pay operations by configuring solutions, resolving integration issues and supporting go-live activities, at a leading international industrial distributor of steel pipes, valves and fittings. You will work with local supply-chain and IT teams and report to the IT Project Manager. After 12 months, success looks like stable SD/MM processes in production with reduced order-processing exceptions and completion of at least one EU-based support deployment.

## About the company

About the client: a mid-to-large international wholesale building materials distributor operating across multiple markets. They supply steel pipes, valves and fittings to industrial and construction customers. This role exists to strengthen SAP functional capability for distribution and procurement, accelerate cross-border projects and provide on-the-ground support during EU deployments.

## What you will do

• Configure and optimise SAP SD and MM to support sales, pricing, inventory and procurement processes for a distributor business.
• Translate business requirements into SAP design (IMG, master data, pricing procedures, movement types) and lead workshops with stakeholders.
• Ensure reliable integrations between SD/MM and FI/CO and logistics modules, diagnosing and resolving interface issues.
• Lead testing and cutover activities (unit, integration, UAT) and provide go-live and post-go-live support, including occasional travel to EU sites.
• Coach local super-users and produce concise runbooks to reduce recurring support incidents.

## What you bring

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP SD and MM consulting experience configuring sales and materials processes in live implementations.
• Proven track record of delivering order-to-cash and procure-to-pay improvements and supporting go-live stabilisation.
• Experience with SAP integration patterns to FI/CO and logistics modules and with common troubleshooting tools and logs.
• Strong stakeholder skills: able to run workshops, document requirements and communicate changes to business users.
• English language ability sufficient for cross-border support and travel.
• Based in Chennai or Hyderabad and able to travel occasionally to EU project sites (company provides business visa).

## Nice to have

• Prior SAP experience in wholesale, distribution or industrial supply chains.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA migrations or upgrades.
