Detailed Job Description

As an RF Engineer / DT Engineer at Aarav Tech Solutions, you will take full operational ownership of conducting field drive tests, logging RF parameters, and evaluating basic radio network Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across assigned regional clusters. Your day-to-day responsibilities include operating drive test measurement tools (TEMS, Nemo, XCAL), setting up mobile test equipment and scanner setups, capturing voice and data session logs, and generating initial optimization reports. You will collaborate closely with senior optimization engineers and project managers to troubleshoot network anomalies, verify site cluster performance, and support major telecom rollout projects for tier-1 operators such as Jio, Airtel, and VI. Furthermore, you will maintain meticulous test logs, adhere to strict project safety standards, and maintain readiness for regional relocation and immediate joining.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute systematic 4G and 5G drive tests (DT) and walk tests across designated cluster locations to evaluate cellular coverage and signal quality.
• Utilize professional drive testing and diagnostic measurement tools including TEMS, Nemo, and XCAL.
• Monitor, record, and analyze basic Radio Frequency (RF) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, SINR, and throughput.
• Identify, document, and report coverage holes, dropped calls, call setup failures, and handover anomalies in the field.
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot drive test hardware kits, GPS receivers, scanner units, and mobile test terminals.
• Collaborate with senior RF optimization engineers and back-office teams to share field logs and implement preliminary tuning actions.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily drive test progress reports, route logs, and initial cluster performance summaries.
• Ensure strict adherence to project timelines, safety guidelines, and operational quality benchmarks across all assigned deployment sites.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (B.Tech ECE), Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 0 to 2 years of professional hands-on experience in RF drive testing, network optimization, or telecommunications field engineering (freshers are welcome).
• Practical familiarity with professional drive testing tools such as TEMS, Nemo, or XCAL.
• Foundational knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR wireless network architecture and basic RF KPIs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented data collection capabilities.
• Willingness and readiness to relocate and travel across regional cluster locations (Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Raipur, Lucknow, Jaipur).
• Preferred availability for immediate joining or within a 15-day notice period.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior internship or project experience working on telecom vendor projects for major Indian operators (Jio, Airtel, VI).
• Basic familiarity with post-processing software tools such as TEMS Discovery, Actix, or QGIS.
• Certifications or specialized coursework in wireless communications, 4G/5G technology, or RF planning principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data logging, report generation, and metric tracking.
