Quantity Surveyor-Road & Highway Project

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and maintain BOQs and detailed quantity estimates for road and highway construction works.
• Calculate quantities for earthwork, embankment, subgrade, GSB, WMM, bituminous works, concrete works, and other project activities as applicable.
• Prepare and verify Running Account (RA) bills, subcontractor bills, and client billing documents.
• Verify site measurements against approved drawings, BOQs, and actual executed work.
• Maintain Measurement Books (MB), quantity statements, and supporting billing records.
• Perform rate analysis for extra items, deviations, and variation works.
• Monitor executed quantities against BOQ quantities and identify discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly quantity reconciliation and assist in project cost control.
• Coordinate with site engineers, planning teams, project managers, and accounts teams for billing and quantity verification.
• Maintain accurate records of materials consumed, quantities executed, and work completed.
• Identify opportunities to reduce quantity discrepancies and improve billing accuracy.
• Ensure all quantity and billing documentation is accurate and submitted within project deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of Quantity Surveying and Civil Engineering.
• Practical experience in road and highway infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, and RA billing.
• Knowledge of earthwork calculations and road construction layers.
• Experience in subcontractor billing and rate analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of Measurement Books, quantity reconciliation, and cost control.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and coordination abilities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidates with relevant experience in road, highway, or infrastructure projects will be preferred.
• Must be capable of independently handling quantity calculations, billing documentation, and reconciliation.
• Should be detail-oriented, responsible, and comfortable working at a project site.
• Candidates with practical knowledge of BOQ, RA bills, and subcontractor billing are strongly preferred.
