Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to own the end-to-end testing process for banking applications, covering mobile and service layers. The role involves test planning, manual testing, automation development, API testing, and mobile application automation within an Agile environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesTest Analysis & Manual QA

• Analyze business requirements and clarify acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test plans, test strategies, and detailed test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, and UAT testing cycles.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using Jira through to closure.
• Maintain traceable test cases using test management tools such as Zephyr Scale.
• Execute testing across multiple devices and OS versions using cloud-based real-device platforms.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product teams, and other stakeholders.

Test Automation

• Develop, maintain, and enhance API automation test suites.
• Perform service-level testing using Postman/Newman and migrate collections into automation frameworks.
• Develop Android and iOS mobile automation scenarios using Appium.
• Design and maintain reusable automation frameworks using Java.
• Integrate smoke and regression automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze automation results, investigate failures, and continuously improve test coverage and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in software testing/QA.
• Strong experience in test execution and execution management.
• Hands-on experience with Jira for defect and task tracking.
• Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr Scale, Xray, TestRail, or equivalent.
• Experience using BrowserStack or similar cloud-based device farms.
• Strong hands-on experience building automation frameworks using Java.
• Proven experience in API automation and service testing.
• Working knowledge of Postman/Newman and API collection management.
• Strong experience with Appium for Android/iOS mobile automation.
• Experience with TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and Git.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, and token-based authentication.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the banking or fintech domain.
• Experience designing automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM), BDD/Cucumber, or similar approaches.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
• Awareness of security testing concepts.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification.

Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across manual QA, API automation, mobile automation, and CI/CD, with the ability to independently manage testing activities from requirement analysis through execution, defect closure, and automation. Experience in banking/fintech applications will be an added advantage.
