QA Test Engineer – Manual and Automation Experience: 2–3 years Location: Jayanagar, Bengaluru Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline Certification: Completion of a formal Software Testing/QA course is mandatory Role Overview We are looking for a QA Test Engineer with hands-on experience in manual testing, test automation, API testing, and SQL-based data validation. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding business requirements, preparing comprehensive test cases, executing functional and regression tests, reporting defects, and developing basic automation scripts for web applications. Key Responsibilities Manual Testing Analyse business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications. Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and traceability documents. Perform functional, UI, integration, system, smoke, and regression testing. Identify, document, and report defects with transparent evidence and reproduction steps. Track defects through investigation, resolution, retesting, and closure. Participate in requirement discussions and identify potential gaps or ambiguities. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to improve test coverage and product quality. Automation Testing Develop and execute automation scripts using Selenium or a similar web automation tool. Work with automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, or PyTest. Maintain and enhance existing automation test suites. Execute automated smoke and regression test cycles. Analyse automation results and report failures accurately. Work with developers and senior QA team members to identify suitable automation prospects. Follow reusable and maintainable automation scripting practices. API and Database Testing Test APIs using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools. Validate API requests, responses, status codes, headers, and error handling. -
