Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Engineer Trainee who is passionate about Quality Assurance and has a good understanding of both Manual Testing and Test Automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium with Java and/or Playwright with TypeScript, along with a good understanding of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and programming/scripting concepts in Java and/or TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.

Create and maintain automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java and/or Playwright with TypeScript.

Participate in requirement analysis and identify suitable areas for test automation.

Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.

Detect, report, and track bugs through to resolution.

Work closely with developers, QA team members, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Assist in maintaining automation scripts and testing frameworks.

Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation practices, and testing tools.

Learn and follow QA processes, testing standards, and best practices.

Technical Skills

Good understanding of Manual Testing concepts, including test case preparation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.

Good Exposure in Selenium WebDriver with Java for web automation.

Basic Understanding in Playwright and TypeScript for modern web application automation.

Good understanding of Java programming OOP concepts, collections, exception handling, etc.

Basic understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript and basic programming concepts.

Familiarity with TestNG/JUnit and Maven/Gradle is an advantage.

Basic understanding of Playwright features such as locators, assertions, test execution, and reporting is an advantage.

Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools.

Basic knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman or REST-assured is a plus.

Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

Willingness to learn new testing tools and technologies.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Candidates with relevant academic/project exposure in Software Testing or QA can apply.

Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines is an added advantage.

Exposure to both Selenium and Playwright is an added advantage. .
