QA Engineer — Functional Testing (India)

Role Overview

We are looking for a QA Engineer with 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance, functional testing, and defect management. The candidate should have experience in Procurement and/or banking/financial services, strong Azure DevOps skills, and the ability to independently test complex business workflows and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation to identify test scenarios and requirement gaps.
• Design and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, smoke, and regression test cases.
• Log, track, retest, and manage defects using Azure DevOps Boards and Test Plans.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, executions, and defects.
• Investigate functional issues, analyze root causes, and support resolution.
• Identify and communicate risks, blockers, dependencies, and testing delays.
• Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and QA teams.
• Support UAT, business-user validation, and workflow testing.
• Provide clear testing updates and participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Work independently while maintaining testing quality and delivery commitments.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of Software QA experience.
• Solid functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing experience.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Boards and Test Plans.
• Experience in Procurement and/or banking/financial services.
• Strong test case design, test execution, defect management, and traceability.
• Experience testing web applications, integrations, business rules, and access permissions.
• Knowledge of SQL and APIs for validation and troubleshooting.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Strong analytical thinking, independent problem-solving, and risk escalation.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Basic test automation using Playwright and JavaScript.
• Monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace.
• Log analysis and technical troubleshooting.
• Enterprise system modernization, transformation, or implementation projects.
