Job Description & Responsibilities

Product Manager, Business Systems

Location: Pune, India · Hybrid

Experience: 4–6 years

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager, Business Systems, to own the intake-to-decision process for internal business and technology requirements, while also serving as the administrator for our core finance systems.

When a team brings a requirement, you will scope the problem, validate feasibility, and recommend the best path forward, whether that means configuring an existing system, automating a process, building a solution, or evaluating a new tool.

You will also work closely with the Finance team to support core finance systems and the activities required to keep period- and quarter-end processes running smoothly.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for someone who combines a strong finance background and systems expertise with a product mindset.

The role has two equally important aspects

The Product & Business Systems side: You will own intake and prioritization across business functions. You will run discovery with stakeholders, assess requirements against the existing technology landscape, validate solutions through hands-on proofs of concept, and make clear build-versus-buy recommendations.

When the right solution is to build, you will define the requirements and partner with engineering teams to deliver it. When the right solution is to buy, you will lead the evaluation and selection process.

You will be accountable not just for delivery, but also for adoption and the value realised from the solutions implemented.

The Finance Systems side: You will own the administration and ongoing management of our core finance platform, including configuration, workflows, roles and permissions, reporting, and other system capabilities. You will also support recurring finance processes, including period- and quarter-end activities.

What You'll Do

Product & Business Systems

  • Run structured discovery with stakeholders across Finance, Go-to-Market, People, Talent, Legal, IT and other business functions.
  • Translate business needs into clear problem statements and well-defined requirements.
  • Assess whether requirements can be addressed through existing system configuration, automation, custom development, or a new tool.
  • Run lightweight proofs-of-concept to validate feasibility before committing significant time or investment.
  • Make build-vs-buy recommendations based on cost, time, risk, scalability and maintainability.
  • Write clear specifications and partner with technical teams to deliver solutions end to end.
  • Lead vendor and tool evaluations when a new solution is required.
  • Own a prioritised roadmap and backlog across business systems initiatives.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate decisions and trade-offs clearly.
  • Drive adoption, enablement and post-launch improvements by measuring outcomes and iterating.
  • Maintain clear documentation for requirements, decisions, systems and key processes.

Finance Systems

  • Own administration of the core finance platform, including configuration, roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches, reports and forms.
  • Support Finance teams through recurring period- and quarter-end processes.
  • Document key finance processes, system configurations and dependencies to ensure continuity and resilience.
  • Support audit requirements through accurate documentation and evidence.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual finance and operational processes and partner with technical teams to implement solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • CA or an equivalent finance qualification, such as an MBA in Finance.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience, including hands-on experience with finance systems and administration.
  • Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes, including financial close, AP/AR and reporting.
  • Experience working with enterprise SaaS applications and business systems.
  • Strong product thinking and the ability to evaluate multiple solution approaches.
  • Ability to assess whether a requirement should be solved through configuration, automation, custom development or a new tool.
  • Familiarity with common business SaaS ecosystems, such as CRM, finance, HR, support and collaboration platforms, and how they integrate.
  • Comfortable being hands-on and running proofs-of-concept to validate ideas and solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and modern approaches to improving business and technical workflows.
  • Excellent discovery, written communication, specification and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A bias for action and the ability to take requirements from discovery to decision quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of recurring business-critical processes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience administering enterprise finance or ERP systems.
  • Formal training or certification in enterprise business systems or ERP platforms.
  • Exposure to systems supporting People, Talent, Legal or other business functions.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations and automation concepts.
  • Experience supporting financial audits and compliance processes.
  • Exposure to procurement, vendor management or software renewal cycles.
