Product Designer – Anita Dongre & Grassroot

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly creative Product Designer to develop contemporary lifestyle collections rooted in Indian craftsmanship. The role spans concept creation, product development, material innovation, and collaboration with artisans to create globally relevant products across fashion, lifestyle, and home.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal collections across fashion accessories, lifestyle products, home décor, home textiles, and artisan-led products.
• Translate Indian crafts into contemporary, globally desirable products.
• Research global design, lifestyle, and consumer trends to identify new product opportunities.
• Develop concepts, sketches, CADs, material palettes, and product specifications.
• Source innovative materials, trims, and finishes while working closely with artisans, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Lead product development from concept to prototype, sampling, costing, approvals, and production.
• Partner with merchandising, sourcing, production, and marketing teams to deliver commercially successful collections.
• Ensure every product reflects exceptional design, craftsmanship, sustainability, quality, and commercial viability.

Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years’ experience in premium lifestyle, home, fashion accessories, or artisan-led brands.
• Strong aesthetic sensibility with a deep understanding of materials, colour, and craftsmanship.
• Experience developing products with artisan clusters and sustainable materials is preferred.
• Ability to balance creativity with commercial thinking.
• Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Fashion, Textile, Lifestyle, Accessory Design, or a related field. Graduates from NID, NIFT, MIT Institute of Design, Pearl Academy, or other leading design institutes will be preferred.
