Presales & Solution Architect

About the Role

Sutherland is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to drive end-to-end solutioning for our manufacturing, Hospitality and Shared Economy clients. This role sits at the intersection of business consulting, technology, and AI-led transformation translating client challenges into winning proposals, differentiated solutions, and scalable capabilities. You will be a key voice in how Sutherland designs and pitches transformation and AI-driven CX solutions for hospitality brands, vacation rental platforms, ride-sharing, mobility, Manufacturing, Automotive and other shared-economy businesses.

Key Responsibilities

RFP & Proposal Leadership

• Lead solution design and response for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs across Manufacturing, Hospitality and Shared Economy accounts, from requirements analysis through final proposal delivery.
• Partner with sales, pricing, and delivery teams to build compelling, commercially sound, and operationally deliverable solutions.
• Own the solution narrative, win themes, and differentiators for each pursuit, ensuring proposals reflect client-specific business outcomes rather than generic capability.
• Support orals, client presentations, and due-diligence sessions as the technical and solution subject-matter expert.

Capability Building

• Build and maintain a repeatable library of solution assets, playbooks, case studies, and reference architectures for manufacturing, Hospitality and Shared Economy.
• Identify capability gaps against market and client demand, and work with practice leadership to prioritize investment in new offerings, tools, or partnerships.
• Contribute to the maturity of Sutherland's vertical point-of-view, ensuring solutions stay current with industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.

Transformation & AI Solutioning

• Assess client operations, CX, and business processes to identify opportunities for digital and AI-led transformation.
• Design end-to-end transformation roadmaps that combine process redesign, automation, analytics, and generative/agentic AI solutions.
• Evaluate and incorporate Sutherland's proprietary AI and automation IP into client solutions, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and measurable business impact.
• Stay current on AI, automation, and CX technology trends relevant to hospitality and shared-economy business models, and translate them into practical client solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with delivery, technology, data science, and vertical leadership teams to validate solution feasibility and cost.
• Act as a bridge between client-facing sales teams and internal delivery/technology teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Support post-win transition, ensuring proposed solutions are handed off cleanly to delivery teams for implementation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 18+ years of experience in solution architecture, consulting, or transformation roles within BPO, CX, or technology services organizations.
• Prior experience supporting Hospitality, Travel, or Shared Economy (ride-sharing, mobility, vacation rental, marketplace) clients strongly preferred.
• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of manufacturing paradigms (Discrete, Process, Lean, Six Sigma) and standard operating procedures.
• Technical Skills: Strong familiarity with BPM suites (e.g., Appian, Pegasystems, Camunda, Bizagi) and integration protocols (APIs, IoT, ERP systems like SAP/Oracle).
• Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to complex RFP/RFI responses, including solution design, costing input, and proposal writing.
• Working knowledge of AI, automation, and digital CX technologies (conversational AI, agentic AI, RPA, analytics platforms) and how they apply to enterprise operations.
• Strong understanding of BPO/CX operating models, contact center technology, and customer experience metrics.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Solution Architecture: Designing end-to-end manufacturing workflows (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay) using the companys BPM platform.
• Client Demonstrations: Conducting technical presentations and building custom proof-of-concepts (PoCs) for manufacturing stakeholders.
• RFP & Bid Management: Leading technical responses for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and estimating project timelines, resource requirements, and pricing.
• Value Engineering: Quantifying the business value, ROI, and efficiency gains that a manufacturer will achieve by implementing BPM.
• Industry Alignment: Bridging the gap between legacy manufacturing systems (like ERP, MES, and PLM) and modern BPM orchestrations.
• Strong storytelling and proposal-writing skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into clear business value.
• Comfortable working under proposal deadlines and managing multiple concurrent pursuits.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across sales, delivery, technology, and client-facing teams.
• Analytical mindset, with the ability to evaluate operational data and translate it into transformation opportunities.
• Confident presenter, able to represent Sutherland's solutions credibly in front of client executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sutherland or competitor proprietary AI/automation platforms.
• Familiarity with hospitality and shared-economy industry KPIs (occupancy, guest satisfaction, driver/rider experience, marketplace trust & safety, etc.).
• Prior experience in a client-facing pre-sales, solutions consulting, or transformation advisory role.
