Role Description The Plant Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cuttack, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing and plant activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of WellNosh snacks. The role includes planning and managing production schedules, supervising plant staff, and coordinating with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging.

The manager monitors equipment performance, implements preventive maintenance, and enforces food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance standards. This position also focuses on process optimization, cost control, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives, while collaborating with quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to meet output and quality targets.

Qualifications

  • Strong operations and production management skills, including experience with scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization in a food or FMCG plant.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and food safety standards (e.g., FSSAI, HACCP, GMP) and experience implementing and monitoring compliance on the shop floor.
  • Technical skills in plant equipment operation and maintenance coordination, with the ability to troubleshoot basic production and machinery issues.
  • People management and leadership abilities, including team supervision, performance monitoring, training, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for using data to track KPIs, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and manage costs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams such as procurement, quality, logistics, and senior management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, or a related field; relevant plant management experience in food processing or FMCG is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, basic ERP or production management software, and standard reporting tools.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices, with the ability to enforce policies and conduct regular audits.
