Job Description & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Plant HR Operations Manage day-to-day HR activities for the plant, including attendance, leave, shift working, overtime coordination, joining, transfers, exits, and employee records. Ensure smooth HR support to all departments such as Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, PPC, EHS, SCM, and Admin. M Maintain accurate employee data, HR MIS, dashboards, and monthly HR reports.

Manpower Planning Recruitment

Work closely with HODs to identify manpower requirements for staff, workmen, trainees, and contract labour. Ensure timely onboarding, document verification, induction, and deployment of new employees.

Employee Relations Industrial Relations

Maintain cordial employee relations across the plant. Handle employee grievances, shopfloor concerns, disciplinary matters, and counselling. Support domestic enquiries, show-cause notices, charge-sheets, warning letters, and other disciplinary documentation. Build healthy communication channels between management and employees/workmen.

Statutory Compliance

Ensure compliance under applicable labour laws such as Factories Act, Contract Labour Act, PF, ESIC, Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, Shops Establishment, and other statutory requirements. Coordinate with labour authorities, factory inspector, PF/ESIC offices, and external compliance consultants. Maintain statutory registers, returns, licenses, renewals, contractor documents, and audit readiness.

Contract Labour Management

Monitor contractor manpower deployment, attendance, wages, statutory compliance, and documentation. Ensure contractors comply with PF, ESIC, minimum wages, safety, and other legal requirements. Support contractor audits and ensure timely closure of non-compliances.

Performance Management Talent Development

Support the PMS process for plant employees, including goal setting, reviews, feedback, and performance documentation. Identify training needs in coordination with HODs and support technical, behavioural, safety, and compliance training. Support skill matrix, competency mapping, succession planning, talent mapping, and employee development initiatives.

Employee Engagement Communication

Plan and execute employee engagement activities, townhalls, celebrations, communication meetings, welfare initiatives, and recognition programs. Drive employee connect programs, skip-level meetings, grievance redressal sessions, and shopfloor communication forums. Promote positive work culture, discipline, teamwork, safety awareness, and productivity orientation.

Administration Welfare

Oversee plant administration activities such as canteen, transportation, housekeeping, security, uniforms, welfare facilities, and employee amenities. Ensure plant hygiene, discipline, and employee welfare standards are maintained. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for smooth administrative support. HR MIS Reporting Prepare monthly HR reports covering manpower, absenteeism, attrition, recruitment, training, overtime, compliance, engagement, and disciplinary cases. Track HR KPIs and provide insights to plant and corporate leadership. Support HR audits, customer audits, statutory audits, and internal reviews.

Required Qualification Essential: MBA / PGDM / MSW / MHRM / Master s in HR or equivalent qualification Preferred: Additional knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance, industrial relations, and manufacturing HR practices.

Experience Required 8 to 12 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing / automotive / engineering / bearing / industrial plant environment. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in handling plant HR responsibilities independently or as a key HR member.
