Job Description & Responsibilities

Mobile Application Developer - Flutter

Location: Chennai, In Office Experience: 3-4 Years

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Mobile Application Developer with 3-4 years of experience building and shipping cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter. The ideal candidate will translate

Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and feature specifications into clean, performant Flutter screens and flows, integrate with backend REST/GraphQL APIs, and own their features end to end from design through release on the App Store and Play Store. This role suits a developer who cares about UI quality, app performance, and release discipline, and who is comfortable working closely with the Lead Developer / Architect, Product, QA, and DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart for both iOS and Android.
  • Translate PRDs, feature documentation, and UI/UX designs into responsive, pixel-accurate, and accessible mobile screens.
  • Implement clean app architecture and state management using patterns such as BLoC, Riverpod,

or Provider.

  • Integrate mobile applications with backend services through REST and/or GraphQL APIs,

including authentication, pagination, error handling, and offline behavior.

  • Implement local persistence and caching using SQLite, Hive, Isar, or shared preferences as appropriate to the feature.
  • Profile and optimize app performance, app size, startup time, frame rendering, memory usage,

and battery consumption.

  • Own the build and release process, app signing, versioning, store metadata, and submissions to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Write unit, widget, and integration tests, and support automated testing of critical user journeys.
  • Participate in code reviews, raise well-scoped pull requests, and follow the team's coding standards and branching strategy.
  • Integrate and support platform services such as push notifications, deep linking, analytics, crash reporting, and in-app updates.
  • Debug and resolve production issues reported through crash reporting tools, QA, and customer support.
  • Work with the Lead Developer / Architect on API contracts, data flow, and technical design for mobile features.
  • Manage tasks and sprints in Jira, maintain feature and release documentation in Confluence, and coordinate with Product, QA, and DevOps through shared tooling.
  • Contribute to effort estimation, sprint planning, and release planning for mobile deliverables.

Required Technical Skills

  • 3-4 years of hands-on mobile development experience, with at least 2 years building production applications in Flutter and Dart.
  • Strong command of Dart, including async/await, futures, streams, and null safety.
  • Proven experience with at least one state management approach (BLoC, Riverpod, Provider, or

GetX) and a clear rationale for its use.

  • Solid understanding of Flutter widget composition, layout, navigation/routing, and responsive design across phone and tablet form factors.
  • Hands-on experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs, with libraries such as Dio, http, or graphql_flutter.
  • Experience with local storage and offline-first patterns using SQLite, Hive, Isar, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of native platform integration, writing or consuming platform channels, and configuring Android (Gradle) and iOS (Xcode) projects.
  • Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play

Store, including signing, provisioning profiles, and store review requirements.

  • Proficiency in Git, branching strategies, and pull request-based code review workflows.
  • Familiarity with Firebase or equivalent services for push notifications, analytics, crash reporting,

and remote configuration.

  • Working knowledge of testing in Flutter, including unit, widget, and integration tests.
  • Comfortable with cross-functional collaboration tools, including Jira for task and sprint management and Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Understanding of mobile application security basics, including secure storage, certificate pinning,

token handling, and safe handling of sensitive data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exposure to native development in Kotlin (Android) and/or Swift (iOS).
  • Experience with CI/CD for mobile builds using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Codemagic, Fastlane, or

Bitrise.

  • Exposure to Banking, Financial Services, or Educational ERP domains.
  • Experience with in-app payments, biometric authentication, document upload, or e-KYC style flows.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and localization/multi-language support.
  • Experience contributing to a shared design system or reusable component library.
  • Interest or experience leveraging GenAI / LLM tools to improve development, code review, and documentation workflows.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong eye for UI detail, builds screens that match design intent without being chased.
  • Ownership mindset, takes a feature from PRD to store release and stands behind its quality.
  • Performance-conscious, thinks about frames, payload sizes, and battery, not just correctness.
  • Clear communicator who flags blockers early and writes readable pull requests.
  • Eager to learn, receptive to code review feedback, and keen to grow towards senior mobile • ownership.
