Lead Software Developer - Java

We are expanding our platform and need a Lead Software Developer - Java with AWS Cloud to steer Java and SpringBoot microservices, REST APIs, and AWS services. You will unblock delivery, raise engineering quality, and partner across stakeholders on planning and governance—apply now.

Responsibilities

• Own the team’s technology solutions and take responsibility for deliverable results
• Establish technical vision and help the team make informed decisions
• Resolve technology blockers that surface during project execution
• Coordinate with architects and the CTO organization to follow governance standards and best practices
• Deliver solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements with high quality
• Advance system designs, architectures, and frameworks to improve the overall solution
• Review and protect quality across data models, API contracts, architecture, frameworks, and code
• Contribute to estimation, planning, prioritization, and dependency mapping efforts
• Lead and encourage collaboration across teams and stakeholder groups
• Operate as a hands-on technologist with AWS Cloud-native microservices architecture expertise

Requirements

• Extensive 8+ years of experience building front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs
• Proven experience with Java, Node.js, and SpringBoot including API and microservices development
• Strong AWS Cloud knowledge across ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch
• Familiarity with DynamoDB and Aurora as database technologies
• Experience working in Agile methodology and using API testing tools
• Working knowledge of Splunk monitoring platforms
• Strong communication skills for client-facing engagement with solid presentation ability
• Detail-oriented execution style with comfort in ambiguity while keeping structure
• Experience leading teams and coordinating with Vanguard Database, the CTO organization, and API Economy initiatives
• Ability to clarify technical uncertainty and deliver well-defined solutions

• Experience with Python programming
• Exposure to cloud-native data pipelines
• Experience aligning delivered solutions with business insight and API economy principles
